The concept of bundles has been around for absolutely ages. It is used in many different industries and sectors, to aid stores selling a wide range of goods and services. Some examples of bundles you would have heard of include those that you find in the mobile phone industry and those you find from your broadband provider.
In the mobile phone market, you will often be offered, for a set price, a Free Nintendo Dsi with Mobile Phones, a certain amount of minutes and text messages free per month, as well as other bonuses which can include free gifts like play station’s and Nintendo wii's. This package is collectively known as a bundle. In the broadband sector, you will often be offered the wifi box, set up, download speed and download cap (in mega bytes), plus a landline phone with free minutes for taking out a contract with them. This is also an example of a bundle. As you can see with these two bundles, you need to sign a contract in order to qualify. However, there are bundles that do not require signing of a contract.
